Replacing Doorbell with Doorbell-Camera with 3D Printed Spacer

We replaced a traditional wired doorbell—connected to a low-voltage power supply—with a modern doorbell camera. What should have been a simple swap became more complex due to the home’s siding, which is shaped to mimic the curved profile of a log house.

To ensure a clean, professional installation, we carefully measured the siding’s curvature and recreated it in Autodesk Fusion 360. Using that model, we designed a custom spacer that perfectly matches the surface, allowing the doorbell camera to mount flush and securely.

The result is a seamless, precise fit that looks as if it was always part of the home.
