Mount Doorbell-Camera: 3D Printed Mount and Spray-Painted

We replaced a traditional wired doorbell—connected to a low-voltage power supply—with a modern doorbell camera. What should have been a simple swap became more complex due to the home’s siding, which is shaped to mimic the curved profile of a log house.

To ensure a clean, professional installation, we carefully measured the siding’s curvature and recreated it in Autodesk Fusion 360. Using that model, we designed a custom spacer that perfectly matches the surface, allowing the doorbell camera to mount flush and securely.

We added a custom cover over the doorbell camera body and mounting space, carefully designed to match the curved profile of the siding for a clean, built-in appearance. The original cover was printed in silver plastic, but we later spray-painted it to match the mailbox color for a more coordinated and polished look.

The result is a cleaner installation that blends naturally with the home instead of looking like an afterthought. What do you think of the transformation?
